android: Samsung Galaxy S21 series starts receiving May Android Security patch update

Samsung has just started rolling out Android Security patch Galaxy S21 Series of smartphones. The lineup includes Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 + and Galaxy S21 According to a report by Ultra GSMArena, all three smartphones have started getting Android security patches from May 2022.
The update carries the firmware version G991BXXU5CVDD and currently, the update is being rolled out in Italy. The company is expected to expand its rollout to other regions soon.
According to the report, the update will first roll out in the European region and then soon follow in other markets.
The update does not bring any significant changes or new features other than the Android Security Patch.
Owners of the Galaxy S21 series in Italy will receive the updated OTA update notification. Alternatively, there is an option to manually check for updates by going to Settings → Software Update.
For those who don’t know, Samsung recently rolled out Android security patches on its Galaxy S22 series smartphones, including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra. Also, the company recently updated its mid-range smartphones – the M series and Galaxy A series phones – to the Android 12 operating system. The company has also launched the One UI 4.1 update which brings all the latest user interface features and changes to those phones.
