Average salary hits record high

Calcutta : Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kolkata announced on Thursday that their placement record for its 57th batch students has achieved a record of 100% placement including average salary. 334.2 lakh per annum.

The Premier Business Institute noted that more than 190 companies actually participated in the final placement process. A total of 465 students participated during the placement drive, receiving 631 offers, the official statement said.

The institute adopted a cluster-based system for drives, where participating companies were further mapped to their respective clusters.

The average salary was 331 lakh per annum, the statement said.

The consulting sector has emerged as the top employer, with 49% of offers being raised in the domain. Accenture Strategy, Bain & Company, Boston Consulting Group, EY Parthenon and McKinsey & Company were the top employers in this domain.

Marquee Asset Management, Investment Banking, and Private Equity-Venture Capital Firms offer 18%, proving the organization’s talent in the finance domain. Goldman Sachs and Avendas have the highest offers among the team, the statement said.

In the general management and marketing domain, 14% of offers were raised. Hindustan Unilever Limited, ITC, Nestle, Procter & Gamble and Tata Administrative Services were some of the prominent employers.

19% of the overall offers are brought to the product management and operations domain. Top employers include Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Paytm among others.

There were several new recruits, including international offers from IIFL, Nykaa, Premji Invest, Rothschild, Zomato and Emaar and Protiviti.
