Canon has announced the launch of the EOS R5 C in India, expanding the cinema EOS system in the video production equipment lineup. The company says that the new EOS R5 is designed to meet the needs of users who are looking for a camera with high quality still photos and videos. The camera has a compact and lightweight body and supports 8K RAW video recording.
In addition, the company has announced two new L-Series Super Telephoto Prime lenses – the RF800mm F5.6L IS USM and the RF1200mm F8L IS USM.

Canon has launched the EOS R5 C at Rs 3,99,900 and will be available for purchase in April 2022.

Canon EOS R5 C: Specification
The EOS R5 C is equipped with a full-frame 45MP CMOS sensor and DIGIC X image processor. The camera supports 8K / 30P RAW with an internal power supply and 8K / 60P RAW video when using an external power supply. The camera can record 8K / 30P video in MP4 file format.
The camera also supports full pixel readout 8K functional pixels and can oversample data to create high-image-quality 4K / 4: 2: 2/10 bit video.
The company has added a new heat transfer architecture and built-in heat transfer fan built into the EOS R5 C to control the thermals while recording high quality video. The company claims that it allows longer video recording than the regular EOS R5.
Also, the camera supports the movie RAW Lite recording format with the company’s own XF-AVC format based on the broadcast standard.
Speaking of static photography capabilities, the R5 C’s 45MP sensor supports high-speed continuous shooting and claims to shoot up to 20 frames-per-second (FPS) with electronic shutters and up to 12 FPS with mechanical shutters.
