CAT 2022 registration begins on Wednesday: All you need to know

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will conduct a computer-based Common Admission Test 2022 (CAT 2022) on November 27 in three sessions. The registration process for appearing in the CAT exam will start from 3rd August and will continue till 14th September.

CAT 2022 is a prerequisite for admission to various postgraduate and fellow/doctoral programs of IIMs. CAT 2022 scores are permitted to be used by listed non-IIM member institutions.

Candidate should have Graduation with minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA [45% in the case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories]Awarded by any university or educational institution incorporated by an Act of the Parliament of India or a State Legislature or declared as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, or possessing an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

However, it may be noted that such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the program provisionally, only if they submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution (issued on or before the date specified by the concerned ) IIM) stating that they have fulfilled all the requirements for graduation degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of certificate.

Candidates applying for CAT 2022 must fulfill any one of the following conditions:

Completed graduation degree with required percentage marks*.

Full professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA/Fellow of Institute of Actuaries of India

(FIAI)) with required percentage*.

Must be in final year of graduation with required percentage*.

*SC/ST/PwD candidates should have minimum 45%. For General, EWS and NC-OBC

Candidates, minimum 50%. The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate will be calculated based on the practice followed by the concerned University/Institution. In case of Grade/CGPA, conversion of marks to percentage will be based on the methodology certified by the concerned University/Institution. If a university/institute confirms that there is no plan to convert CGPA to equivalent marks, then equivalence will be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the highest possible CGPA and multiplying the result by 100.

IIMs may conduct eligibility verification at various stages of the selection process, the details of which are given on the website www.iimcat.ac.in. Applicants should note that meeting the minimum eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee shortlisting consideration of IIMs. Candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a mobile phone number throughout the selection process.

Admit Card Download: 27 October – 27 November, 2022

Exam Date: November 27, 2022

Result Declaration: Second Week of January, 2023 (Provisional)

Registration fee

1150 for SC, ST and PwD category candidates.

2300 for all other category candidates.
