The record-setting success of ClassAct 2022, the Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz, has inspired HT School to return for the second edition of this grand national-level online school quiz this year.

As we celebrate the 74th Republic Day on 26th January, HT School will conduct the Prelims Round of ClassAct 2023- Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz, allowing budding quizzers from Grades 1 to 12 from across the country to nestle and be in the quizzing limelight. ClassAct 2023-Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz is a great opportunity for aspiring quizzers to assess and improve their general knowledge skills while matching their peers from across the country. The quiz will be conducted in two rounds: Prelims on 26th January and Finals which will be held on 5th February. While everyone registered can participate in the prelims, the top 100 scorers in this round can participate in the finals. All finalists will win Amazon gift vouchers. Similarly, the top 10 scorers in grades 1 to 5 will be awarded with exciting Amazon vouchers after the prelims.

The prelims will be conducted asynchronously where the quiz link will be sent to the registered email ids of the participants. It will be active only for a specified period within which they have to submit their responses. Both speed and accuracy will be the determining factor behind the score. This round will challenge participants with 50 questions, including both multiple-choice and type-in ​​options.

On the other hand, the finale will be held live via Zoom and will be hosted by two of India’s most prominent quizmasters, Dr. Naveen Jayakumar and Avinash Mudaliar. Dr. Jayakumar is an Ophthalmologist by profession and was recently elected President of Indian Society of Neuro-Ophthalmologists. A quizmaster by passion, he is a founding member of the Quiz Foundation of India. Dr. Jayakumar has been the quizmaster for well-known national level quizzes such as Landmark Quiz, Murugappa Madras Quotient School Quiz and Rotary Galaxy Science and Technology Quiz. He also hosted ClassAct 2022, Hindustan Times Republic Day Quiz. Mr. Mudaliar was Quizmaster for Power of Ideas Print Quiz, Airtel Quiz-O-Mania, Airtel’s TechQ and NTPC Electron Quiz. He has organized quizzes for major corporate and prestigious institutions. He also co-hosted the first edition of RDQ with Dr. Jayakumar.

Sharing his insights about ClassAct 2023, Dr. Jayakumar said, “I am looking forward to organizing this year’s quiz on Republic Day. Looking back at last year’s record-breaking voter turnout, I hope the sheer enthusiasm of the students will break even last year’s record.” Echoing a similar sentiment, Mr. Mudaliar said, “I am excited to see how young minds will be blown. Second Edition of ClassAct. Quizzing works as an exercise for the brain and it is heartening to see the new generation embracing it. I look forward to interacting with the participants and hope we have an exciting competition.”

The finale will be telecast live on the official HT School YouTube channel and the winners will be selected purely on the basis of their performance.

ClassAct 2023 will be an exciting battle of brains, challenging students to hone their quizzing skills as they dominate the buzzer. It will be a simple quiz covering current affairs, science and technology, history and geography, literature, culture and heritage, food, sports, festivals and general trivia from around the world.

The previous edition of ClassAct saw massive registration numbers in the prelim round of 50,611 students in 32 countries across 5 continents. This round also set a record with 19,625 contestants participating. For this amazing achievement, it was declared as the world record holder for maximum participation in an online school quiz by Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records.
