Currently, Kovacin from India Biotech, Serum Institute of Kovishield in India and Sputnik V made in Russia are being used in India.

Covacin is given in two doses at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks, followed by a longer interval of 12-16 weeks. In a recent report, the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI) recommended reducing the interval between 1st and 2nd doses of Covishield to 8 to 16 weeks, according to a source, IANS reported.

As far as Sputnik V is concerned, although a single dose of the vaccine is available, experts recommend taking two shots of the vaccine every three weeks or 21 days.
