Delhi University may set up a center on its Campus of Open Learning to offer job-based courses for enrolled students. This will be discussed at the March 22 meeting of the Academic Council.
According to Payal Mago, Director, Campus of Open Learning, PTI, “The center will have a media center and provide online and experiential learning courses to students. To increase the employment of students at the School of Open Learning (SOL), these will be skill-based Courses and will be tailored to their needs. “
What courses will be offered to students?
Initially, the center will offer three diploma courses – journalism (English and Hindi), postgraduate diploma in library automation services and mushroom cultivation. There will be a mix of online and offline classes – either 50-50 percent or 60-40 percent.
The journalism course will be conducted in collaboration with Hansraj College, University of Delhi and experts have been identified for other courses.
Courses will be in accordance with National Education Policy, meeting agenda and nominal charges will be levied on courses and they will be conducted on non-profit basis.
