Delhi University (DU) on Wednesday announced the list of vacant seats across colleges as part of the final phase of undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2022-23 under a special spot round, according to news agency PTI.
So far, the varsity has filled 65,000 of its total 70,000 seats in various colleges, Registrar Vikas Gupta said in an official statement. He added that this would be the last and final round of undergraduate admissions for certain selected colleges.
“Candidates who had applied for CSAS (Common Seat Allocation System) – 2022 and had not taken admission in any college on the date of announcement of special spot admission round can participate,” Gupta was quoted as saying by PTI.
The second special spot filling round was announced a few days after the first one ended. However, candidates who were offered seats in any spot round cannot participate in the second special spot filling round, he said.
“After the announcement of this round, admitted candidates will not be allowed to withdraw their admission,” he added.
Candidates can check the complete list of vacant seats on the official website of DU—du.ac.in.
To be considered for the round, candidates need to select ‘Special Spot – II’ on the website dashboard. The application process which started on Wednesday will end on Thursday.
The university has announced that the admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programs for the current academic year will end on Saturday.
The DU admission process, which starts from September 12, is being conducted in three phases – application process, choice filling and seat allotment-cum-admission.
This year, the university is admitting students through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) instead of 12th class marks.
