Fake news alert! JEE Mains 2023 notification circulating on social media is fake

The JEE Main 2023 application notice currently doing the rounds on social media is fake, the fact-checking department of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) confirmed on November 17.

The notification circulating on social media states that the application for JEE Mains 2023 will be held between November 16-December 31. It further states that the examination will be held in two sessions. For the first session, the exam dates given were January 18-23 and the second session will start from April 4-9.

Providing a clarification in a tweet, PIB Fact Check wrote, a notice is doing the rounds on social media claiming that NTA has invited applications for Joint Entrance Examination (Main) of 2023 Session I #PIBFactCheck. PIB created a fact checking unit to detect fake news about the government and its policies circulating on various social media platforms. Fact check units monitor platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to flag news that is fake.

Meanwhile, NTA will soon provide the registration date for JEE Mains 2023, probably by the end of November. Once the date is announced, the registration-cum-application form for the engineering exam will be available on the NTA official website i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in.

The examination will be held in two sessions – January and April. And as per the rules, the rank will be calculated according to the marks obtained by the candidates in either of the two sessions.
