Google has told Android developers that Russian Play Store users will not be able to buy apps, games, IAPs and subscriptions. According to 9to5Google, the company cited “payment system disruption” to “pause” Google Play billing in the coming days.
In addition to in-app purchases, an individual will no longer be able to make in-app purchases of subscription payments or any other type of “digital product” using Google Play in Russia.

According to the report, the subscription will continue till the end of the current billing period but it will be canceled due to non-payment. In order to stand by users, Google is considering postponing user renewals, which is only possible for up to a year.
During the deferred period, a user will retain full access to the content but will not be charged during the deferred period. The company will update the renewal date to reflect the new date.
Another option the company has is to make the applications free or delete paid subscriptions during the “paused period”. The move is intended to provide access to “critical services for users”.
