Ready for Snapchat Holly Cheerleaders are adding fun and color to the company with holi-special stickers and bitmosis. The goal is to help Snapchatters add some extra color to the Holi magic.
The company says that this is consistent with the focus on localization of the app experience for users in India. Snapchat users can add specific location-based filters to photos (geofilters) from 500 different locations and 32 different cities in India this Holi.
What’s new for users
Snapchat has also launched a fun ‘Holi Beard’ lens and a lens to greet Holi in different languages that users can join and celebrate. Aside from the Snapchat app, these lenses are also available on partner platforms like Samsung Fun Mode and Google Camera Go.
First, the community lenses are ready to be shown on Snapchat maps in India, further enhancing the Holi experience.
Snapchatters will be able to activate these holly-specific lenses created by members of the Snapchat Lens Network community directly on Snap Maps. For those looking for Holi-specific entertainment options, Holi-themed exciting content will be available across Discovery and Spotlight platforms.
Speaking about the Holi-specific concept, Durgesh Kaushik, Snapchat’s Director of Market Development for India and South Asia, said, “Snapchatters are constantly looking for unique and fun ways to celebrate with their friends and family. Our AR technical capability is our strength and we have successfully combined it with localization efforts in India. This year, we’ve rolled out our innovative game to further incorporate the Festival of Colors for people living with color blindness with our innovation. AR lens”
