Chipmaker MediaTek Emerging as a smartphone leader SoC With a market share of 33% in Q4 2021, according to a report by Counterpoint Research. The report added that MediaTek’s smartphone SOC volume declined quarterly “due to higher shipments in the first half and inventory revisions from Chinese smartphone OEMs”.

Apples In the fourth quarter of 2021, the smartphone came in third place with a 21% share in the SOC market, with the iPhone 13 launching and a surge in shipments through festival sales. UNISOC gained 11% of shares in Q4 2021, continuing its growth, with more than doubling SoC shipments in 2021. Its customer base has also expanded as it has got brands like this SamsungOn board Motorola, ZTE, Realme, Honor and Transsion.
Samsung Exynos came in fifth with just 4% share, as the South Korean smartphone maker redesigned its smartphone portfolio strategy of “in-sourcing as well as outsourcing to Chinese ODM”. MediaTek and Qualcomm, meanwhile, have grown and gained a large share of the market share, with MediaTek benefiting from Samsung’s own mid-range 4G and 5G smartphones.
