A Bangalore-based ad-tech platform has come up with an innovative idea to reward its users for learning in the Melvano app. The app created by IIT Madras Alumni states that it not only offers free learning content for JEE and NEET but also rewards the interested students with app-mediated currency.

Melvano says it uses artificial intelligence-driven students to analyze students’ weaknesses and builds personalized coursework based on assessments. The app offers foundation courses, crash courses, question banks and mock tests completely free of charge.

The agency says students are rewarded with Melvano coins each time they complete a chapter or take an exam on the app. These coins can be redeemed later when purchasing any of Melvano’s premium services, such as Live Class and personal advice from IIT Almanas.

Founded in 2019 by Taran Singh and Sachin Sanodia, Melvano says it is one of the fastest growing learning platforms for IIT-JEE and NEET candidates, with over 2 lakh students from across India. Melvano has been awarded the Shri Chinmoy Deodhar Award by IIT Madras for his innovative ideas.

In 2021, more than 10 students from Melvano scored 99 percent or higher on JEE Mains. Deepak Nanda scored 99.891 percentile, and topped, while other students including Pulkit Gupta, Shuvrangshu Nayak, Abhijnan Chandra and Ankit Sankhyan also scored above 99 percent.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently announced that the Joint Entrance Examination (JEI) for 2022 will be held in Maine in April and May and this time students will receive only two attempts to qualify for it.

The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET), on the other hand, will be held in June or July. This year the NTA has removed the age measure from the tie-breaking policy for both JEE and NEET candidates. This means that older candidates will no longer have any preference in the rank list. The exact dates of JEE and NEET exams have not yet been announced by the authorities.
