“With DST, MEA and our African friends, CV Raman is working on various capacity-building programs like fellowships, training programs and strengthening of academic and scientific institutes. I hope the CV Raman Fellowship will be as popular as the Alexander von Humboldt Fellowship in Germany,” noted Chandrasekhar.

The Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) through the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) launched the CV Raman Fellowship for African Researchers under the India-Africa Forum Summit to enable scientific and technological cooperation between Africa and India. growth

The purpose of this fellowship is to provide opportunities for African researchers to conduct collaborative research in various fields of science and technology in various Indian universities and R&D institutes under the guidance of host scientists in India. This prestigious fellowship aims to strengthen ties between India and African countries in science and technology.

Chandrasekhar said the fellowship program is about people-to-people connections and learning best practices from each other. He requested a provision to revisit the program so that the relationship would be longer.

He requested the program partner FICCI to join the industry for additional funding.

Commissioners/Ambassadors/Representatives of African High Commissions/Embassies in India, as well as officials of DST and FICCI also attended the meeting and discussed the fellowship.
