Commercially produced sugar can be hard to find with bone marrow, but with a growing trend toward vegetarian and healthy foods, there are a number of organic, raw, unrefined sugars that are made without the addition of bone marrow. Even the popular brown sugar is often mixed with bone marrow, and the cane sugar is mixed with molasses to give it a brown color.

Most refined sugars contain bone marrow and if you want to avoid adding bone marrow to sugar, it is best to go for these unrefined alternatives: coconut sugar, fruit sugar, date sugar, demera sugar, muscovado sugar to name a few.

You can also eat naturally occurring sugar alternatives like raw or organic honey, maple syrup, agave nectar, unsulfurized molasses, date juice and brown rice juice to keep it simple.
