After months of rumors and reports, Shaomi And Leica Finally announced their partnership last month. The first Leica co-developed smartphone is expected to hit the market sometime in June. Shortly afterwards, so-called live images of the Xiaomi 12S appeared, featuring camera modules with Leica branding. Xiaomi 12 Ultra was expected to be the first smartphone with Leica powered optics. Now, notable tipstar, Digital chat station Xiaomi 12 Ultra shared a photo on the back panel showing Leica’s iconic red logo.
The photo was shared by Tipstar On Weibo It doesn’t show the whole rear panel, but it does show many rumored round camera modules, including the Leica. In a separate post, Digital Chat Station says it has seen a two-color alternative to the Xiaomi 12 Ultra’s under-testing prototype. Made with leather in a black color, where there was another ceramic variant with textured rear panel. Leather is something new for Xiaomi smartphones, but smartphones made with the brand’s ceramics have considerable experience.
