Pune : The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) ‘s Class 12 (Higher Secondary Examination) question papers on various subjects were set on fire when a truck carrying papers from Madhya Pradesh to Maharashtra was caught, an official said on Wednesday. Fire in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.
Class 12 exams are scheduled for March 4 to April 30 and practicals will be held from February 14 to March 3.
Earlier on February 3, the state board refused to conduct online board exams despite demands to cancel students’ physical exams due to the Covid-19 situation.
Board Chairperson Sharad Gosavi said, “A truck carrying a set of 12 class question papers caught fire near the confluence ghat in Ahmednagar district.
Ahmednagar Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil said the incident took place around 8 am. “According to preliminary information, the truck started emitting smoke while moving. The driver and other passengers jumped out. Soon, the truck caught fire and the paper sets burned,” he said.
He said that after receiving the news of the fire, the police and fire service personnel went to the spot and extinguished the fire.
