More than 14,500 schools will be built across India under the PM SHRI scheme with all components of NEP 2020, Education Ministry Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Neeta Prasad said on Friday.
Addressing the Sixth East Asia Summit Education Ministers’ Meeting, he said that the NEP 2020 promotes a holistic, flexible and multi-sectoral approach to education as envisioned by the Prime Minister. “It is based on the foundational pillars of access, equity, quality, affordability and accountability. It is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 goals.”
Prasad added that online, open and multi-modal education has been promoted under PM-eVidya. “There are various e-learning platforms like Diksha, Swayam MOOCS platform, virtual labs, e-PG Pathshala and National Digital Library.”
He said that NEP 2020 focuses on internationalization of education and building cooperation with other countries. “India highly values educational cooperation with EAS countries.”
