New Delhi: The Union government has taken revolutionary steps in the field of sports, education, skill development and regional language education with the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, Union Minister Anurag Thakur has said.

He was addressing the college’s 65th convocation at the Bharinder Auditorium of Doaba College, Jalandhar.

NEP 2020 replaced the National Policy on Education formulated in 1986. NEP 2020 aims to reform the country’s school and higher education system. Among the reforms introduced, choice was provided between 3 or 4-year undergraduate courses and multiple entries.

“Today’s era is about women’s empowerment, the biggest proof of which is that women are advancing in every field—especially in education and sports, which is an ideal picture of today’s changing India,” added Tagore.
