Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a webinar on Monday on how the Union Budget 2022 will have a positive impact on education. The webinar will be held at 11 am.
This year, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget speech on February 1, announced the establishment of a digital university with ISTE standards. The country’s education sector grew by 11% in the 2022 budget Set it aside 31.04 lakh crore for education – almost increase 311,000 crore.
Due to the two-year-long Covid-19 lockdown and digital disruption, the government has announced to expand the One Class One TV channel initiative from the existing 20 channels to 200 channels for the education sector under the PM e-Vidya scheme.
However, the allocation under the Digital India e-learning program, which includes the PM e-learning scheme, was reduced. 3421.01 crore from 2022-23 3645.61 crore in the last financial year.
FM Sitharaman has allocated the total expenditure 363,449.37 crore for schools, and 340,828.35 crore for higher education. Last year, financial allocations were made for schools and higher education 354,873.66 crore and 338,350.65 crore respectively.
