New Delhi : The Medical Education Regulator has directed all medical colleges to declare admission information for first year MBBS degree for the academic year 2021-22.
The move by the National Medical Commission (NMC) follows a delay due to the pandemic in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) graduation test, which could only be held last September due to which the admission process could not start on time.
The commission plans to start counseling for first year MBBS students soon with an aim to speed up the admission process. NMC has launched an online monitoring system for this.
UGMEB director Shambhu Sharan Kumar said in a letter to all medical colleges, “To effectively monitor whether all admissions made to medicine courses conform to the requirements of the regulations, the commission has launched an online monitoring system.” .
The education regulator has said that there will be general counseling for admission to MBBS courses in all medical educational institutes on the basis of merit list of NEET.
