New Delhi: Samsung Last year it launched its first Wear OS-powered smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 4. The company is now reportedly working on its successor – the Galaxy Watch 5. Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartwatch could come with a thermometer in a new online report.
According to an ETNews report, Samsung is working to include a thermometer in the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 series. The report added that this feature will help in the early detection of Covid-19 and also help in keeping track of the ovulation cycle. The report mentions that Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 The series is expected to launch in August this year. Apart from this, no other information about smartwatch is available now.
A recent online report by Counterpoint reveals that the Indian smartwatch market grew by a record 274% year on year in 2021 shipments. Domestic brand noise leads the market in 2021 with 27% share and 278% YoY growth.
Second place is occupied by Boat as Storm’s best-selling smartwatch with 26% market share. In third place is the boat after the fire bolt. Realme ranked fourth in 2021 with 23% YoY growth, while Amazfit is in the top five with 65% YoY growth.
When it comes to Samsung, the Galaxy Watch Active 2 remains its most popular model, and sales of the Watch Active 2 enabled the brand to grow more than 2X in 2021. The Galaxy Watch 4 series also contributed more than 16% to its total shipments.
