Good news for DU SOL students! Delhi University on Monday launched six new job-oriented programs including Master of Business Administration in the School of Open Learning (SOL), according to news agency PTI.

The six new courses are Masters of Business Administration, Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Arts-Economics (Hons), Bachelor of Library and Information Sciences and Masters of Library and Information Sciences.

Addressing a press conference here, Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh said that SOL has completed 60 years, but no new course has been announced for a very long time.

“We are introducing six new courses at SOL. The first course is Masters of Business Administration. The second is Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis), Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Arts-Economics (Hons), Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Masters in Library and Information Science,” said Singh.

Meanwhile, Director of Open Learning Campus Payal Magoo said that these courses have been announced after due approval from Distance Education Bureau and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and MBA.

Informing more about these newly introduced courses, Mago said that these courses have been introduced to provide job oriented programs to the students.

“These are very important courses – BBA, MBA, which is a very prestigious course in DU, Bachelor of Management Studies. There are management courses and job-oriented courses. Many students are unable to get admission in economics courses in regular manner. This is also a flagship course of Delhi University,” he added.
