Qualcomm Announced Snapdragon The event is scheduled for May 20 at 8pm (IST 5:30 PM) local time in China. The tech giant took it to the Chinese social media platform Weibo to announce the Snapdragon Night event. The company is expected to showcase the new Snapdragon mobile platform. Rumor has it that Qualcomm may unveil the much-anticipated Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ and 7 Gen 1 mobile platforms.
Qualcomm has not confirmed what is at the event. Nevertheless, considering the numerous reports, those two chipsets will probably make their debut at the Snapdragon Night event. Last year, Qualcomm unveiled new naming rules for its chipsets, starting with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and now the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will be the first 7-Series chipset to receive Qualcomm’s new naming convention.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+, a growing upgrade to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, rumored TSMCIts 4nm process node. Now coming to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, it is thought to be an octa-core chipset, replacing last year’s Snapdragon 778G chipset. According to reports, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 will have a 4x ARM Cortex-A710 core at 2.36GHz and a 4x ARM Cortex-A510 core at 1.8GHz. And it is expected to come with the Adreno 662 graphics unit.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is expected to be seen in upcoming mid-range 5G smartphones. The chipset is expected to be the first to appear Oppo Reno 8 next week.
