Sony’s current flagship WH-1000MX4 headphones are one of the best wireless noise-canceling audio products available on the market. These headphones are arguably the biggest competitors AirPods Max. According to a report from MacRumours, its specification SonyThe next generation WH-1000XM5 headphones have been leaked. The report suggests that the upcoming headphones will play a new design and other advanced specifications compared to the Japanese company’s current premium offers.
According to reports, the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones will include a slender hinged arm that will attach earplugs to a thin headband, much like the Bose 700. The report further suggested that the redesigned headband should be made of metal instead of plastic. Even ear cup padding is likely to be more significant.
Sony could eliminate the collapsible foldway mechanism in upcoming headphones, such as sticking another cup inside one cup. However, another report in The Verge states that the case is not expected to take up too much space.
The MacRumours report further states that the WH-1000XM5 is expected to have a long battery life of up to 40 hours with active noise cancellation. This will increase the battery life by 10-hours compared to its predecessor. However, the upcoming headphones may take up to 30 minutes longer to fully charge than the WH-1000XM4. The Sony WH-1000XM5 will probably be fully charged in 3.5 hours.
Upcoming audio devices are expected to have a new NC / enclosure button that will replace the “custom” found in the previous one. However, the button may be re-programmable to enable voice assistants and other functions. The three microphones present in the WH-1000XM4 are also rumored to have been repositioned.
The WH-1000XM5 may have an extra ANC Processor and a new sound driver that is expected to offer improved noise-cancellation and Sonics. However, the company has not made these details official or confirmed the release date of the headphones.
