New Delhi : National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) in collaboration with Learning Links Foundation (LLF) will organize a two-day face-to-face capacity building program for EMRS teachers to implement the Amazon Future Engineer Programme, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs said on Wednesday.
Speaking about the collaboration, Union Minister Arjun Munda said that the partnership between NESTS and amazon will empower teachers and students in digital education.
Munda added that in the current decade this initiative will help initiate a digital communication with people living in remote areas. “Students at EMRS will benefit greatly from the Future Engineers program. This will act as a stepping stone in creating computer awareness for the tribal students of EMRS.”
In Phase 1, a two-day face-to-face training workshop was held on 28-29 December 2022 at YMCA Auditorium, New Delhi. “One objective is that the Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) program is being launched in about 54 EMRS across 6 states of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telangana with access to digital infrastructure including a computer. lab and stable active internet connection,” the ministry added.
Course modules will include computer science fundamentals, introduction to coding, logical sequencing, learning loops, block programming using open secure source platforms like code.org, tech space, various technology initiatives, etc. Class chat sessions to discuss.
“Modern information technology will strengthen students’ early exposure and preparation for future careers in STEM education. Learning Links Foundation (LLF) is a philanthropic organization working for the ‘Amazon Future Engineer Programme’ which is unique in providing computational skills training to students and teachers of EMRS,” the ministry added.
