WhatsApp It is said to be working on a new button that will make it easier for you to search for a message Last year, the platform, owned by Facebook, launched a new design for the communications information division Android Users who are enrolled in the beta program. Now, according to a report from WABetaInfo, the company has added a new search shortcut to that redesigned page for a few Android beta testers. The new shortcut has been introduced with a new update via the Google Play Beta program. The update brings the app to version 2.22.6.3.
According to a screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a new search shortcut has been added next to the video call icon. According to the report, some user groups are also able to see new shortcuts in the information section. The report further suggests that the shortcut does not appear to be working as it should. Since the feature is still in beta, the company is expected to address this issue in upcoming beta updates. As mentioned earlier, the feature is only available for Android users but the company may also launch the feature for iOS users.
Currently, the search button is located on the app’s homescreen. You can search any message you send or receive using this feature. The search option also offers various filters to narrow down the search – photos, videos, links, GIFs, audio and documents.
Earlier this week, WhatsApp began testing messaging response features for desktop users. With this feature, users will be able to respond to a message with emoji. Similar features are already available on other meta-owned platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. According to WABetaInfo, desktop users will be able to see a new message response button whenever the cursor is near a message. Users will get emoji options to respond to a message when they press a button.
