WhatsApp It is said to be working on a new feature that will allow you to view a list of past participants in the groups of which you are a part. According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has launched a new beta update for Android users through the Google Play Beta program. The update brings the version of the app up to version and it comes with new features for the group.
As per the screenshot shared in the report, you will be able to see a new option at the bottom of the list of group participants in future updates. The option lets you see who was participating in the group in the past. Note that the list of past participants will be visible to everyone in the group, not just to group admins.
Since the feature is currently being developed, it may change the way users use it before it launches. Also, the Facebook-owned platform is working on a new feature that will allow participants to leave the group silently.
Currently when you leave a group, WhatsApp Chat displays a system message informing all participants that you have left the group. The report suggests that once the feature is turned on, your logout information will only be displayed to group admins.
As per the screenshot, you will see a pop-up before leaving the group which will let the administrators know about your departure. “Leave this group? Only you and the group admin will be notified that you have left the group ”reads the pop-up.
